Assam is a state in Northeastern India. It  is known for  Assam Tea andassam silk. The state was the first site for oil drilling in Asia. The state is bordered by Bhutan and Arunanchal Pradesh to the north; Nagaland and Manipur to the east; Meghalaya, tripura, Mizoram and Bangladesh to the south; and West Bengal to the west. Assam’s economy is based on agriculture and oil. Assam produces more than half of India’s tea.  Muga Silk, Assam Tea, Joha Rice and Tezpur litchi are some of the well-known GI products of Assam.
